Join me for an Indian block-printing workshop with TANBAN-an inviting, hands-on experience where you can explore a centuries-old craft, create something of your own, and connect with the stories and traditions behind every print.

As an Indian artist living in Japan, I love sharing more than the printing process. Our time together is also a chance to exchange stories, ask curious questions, and discover connections between India, Japan, and the people in the room. Whether you’re new to block printing or already enjoy making things by hand, you’re warmly welcome.

What to expect

  • A friendly introduction to the history and traditions of Indian block printing
  • A closer look at the carved wooden blocks, printing tools, and materials
  • A step-by-step demonstration of the printing process
  • Time to experiment with colours, patterns, and your own creative ideas
  • The chance to make a hand-printed piece to take home
  • Stories and conversation about Indian craft, culture, travel, and life in Japan
  • A relaxed, welcoming space to create, connect, and enjoy the experience

Process . People . Product

Come curious, leave with something made by hand-and perhaps a new appreciation for the craft, the people, and the stories behind each print.
